The Ladies are proud at Burleigh Golf Club, after Wendy Sicconi took on the men in the $1,000 Handiskins final for their Thursday competition and walked away with $580. Wendy's consistency saw her take out 12 of the 18 skins in today's final. Justin Haynes was next with $320 from Matthew Grey $100, and Daniel Brookes had no luck as those around him took the cash. Golf can be cruel like that, but as we all know you can turn that around quickly, and by making the final 4 Daniel and his fellow finalists get another chance to to go for the dough at the Handiskins National Championship at RACV Royal Pines 29th April to 3rd May on the Gold Coast. Don't be surprised to see these players charging up the leaderboard in May
All four finalists received a Bridgestone Golf Cap and fought kit out for their share in $1000 of Club Vouchers. The final standings were:
- Wendy Sicconi - $580
- Justin Haynes - $320
- Matthew Grey - $100
- Daniel Brookes - nil
National Finalists
All four finalists have now also qualified for the national championship and are extended an invitation to contest Australasia's best Amateur golf championship at the 2020 Handiskins National Final at RACV Royal Pines Resort next year (Wed 29 Apr - Sun 3 May 2020). Given the great spirit contesting today we are sure all four finalists would be able to claim the silverware and be crowned Handiskins National Champion. Handiskins National Final Packages are now open to qualifiers to secure their rooms.
