It was a battle of the low-markers at Blackwood Golf Club's Handiskins Final today. The four finalists with the following handicaps +1, 2, 5, and 12 played a fantastic final in light rain & strong winds. These guys have had many a battle on the club's fairways in the past and today's conditions tested every bit of their club knowledge and competitive spirit. In the end Rob Penny came out on top winning $400, edging Mick Phillips, Gavin Britten and Aaron Amos; with all four rewarded for a great round. Well done guys and we hope to see you at the Handiskins National Championship at RACV Royal Pines 29th April to 3rd May on the Gold Coast
All four finalists received a Bridgestone Golf Cap and fought kit out for their share in $1200 of Club Vouchers. The final standings were:
- Rob Penny - $400
- Mick Phillips - $360
- Gavin Britten - $260
- Aaron Amos - $180
Australian Championships Qualifications
All four finalists have now also qualified for the national championship and are extended an invitation to contest Australasia's best Amateur golf championship at the 2020 Handiskins Australian Championship at RACV Royal Pines Resort next year (Wed 29 Apr - Sun 3 May 2020). Given the great spirit contesting today we are sure all four finalists would be able to claim the silverware and be crowned Handiskins National Champion. Handiskins National Final Packages are now open to qualifiers to secure their rooms.
