October 2023 Handiskins Results
Highlight of the Month October 2023 #1
Whilst it wasn't done in a Handiskins Round, we thought it was worth a huge shoutout to Glenelg Golf Club legend Modge Brown, who has again broken his age in a club comp. At 93 years old, Modge on Thursday had an amazing 42 points and shot 90 off the stick during a recent Club round.
Like a fine Peter Lehmann Shiraz, Modge seems to be getting better with age, and he has certainly not lost his competitive edge. A consistent frontrunner, Modge has been a strong competitor in Handiskins competitions in the last 5 years. After missing out on the Glenelg Handiskins club championship by a single point in both 2019 and 2020, Modge ended up qualifying for the Glenelg Handiskins final in 2022 at the ripe old age of 91 - a feat that etched him into the Handiskins Hall of Fame.
Modge only just missed out on a back-to-back finals appearances in 2023, finishing the qualifying rounds just three shots off a finals spot in a very respectable seventh place (including an impressive 39 points in his third round).
What a competitor and what a legend of the game. Handiskins salutes you Modge and hope we see you at the top of the leaderboard in 2024.

The 2023 Handiskins National Champion Adam Avard has made the Devilbend Golf Club final again... and once again he has dominated. Last year Adam played off a 26 handicap and within 12 months he won the National final at Royal Pines off an 18 handicap.
In this years final at and the Devilbend final 2023 off 13. Adam only started golf a couple of years ago and his handicap is coming down all the time. This year Adam was the low marker going back to scratch for the final and whilst he hadn't won a skin on the front nine he came home strongly winning every hole on the back nine. Adam ended up winning $720.
Could Adam become Handiskins first back-to-back National Champion? Join us at Palm Meadows in May to find out.
