April 2023 Handiskins Results
Highlight of the Month April 2023
Balgowlah Golf Club junior Sky Tse continues to make headlines at this Northern Beaches Sydney club, as he contested yet another Handiskins Final this month.
You might remember this pint-sized junior taking out the 2021 Covid-reduced 9-hole handiskins tournament at this club to the surprise and delight of the Sydney golfing community. Well Sky has shown that all that success was no fluke as he qualified for the traditional 18 hole format, against golfing peers more than triple his age and experience.
Sky held his own in the 2023 final taking out a couple of holes outright and a nearest the pin. With a little bit of luck Sky could have even won it.
What a terrific story and a great reason why Handiskins is the number one handicapped competition for amateur golfers in Australia - for men, women, juniors - whatever the handicap.
We know Sky is going to be a future superstar and we wish him all the best as he launches from the Handiskins experience into the golfing world.

- A keenly contested match with very little between all 4 finalists in the Balgowlah Golf Club final. Mark Brennan just finished on top winning $310 from Peter Grainger $300, Matthew Eagan $240 and celebrated junior Sky Tse $150.
- Queanbeyan Golf Club delivered a Big day out for Yong Lee who won $640 to take out this years title.
- Two good size jackpot holes at McLeod Country Club was the highlight of a good days golf from these 4 finalists. In the end Graham Fairweather was the top money winner with $435 from Sebastian Harris $395
Well done everyone. We hope to see you at the Handiskins National Championship at Palm Meadows Golf Course in 2024 on the Gold Coast.
All four finalists from each club received a Bridgestone Golf Cap and their winnings above in Club Vouchers.
National Championships Qualifications 2024
All four finalists have now also qualified for the national championship and are extended an invitation to contest Australia's best Amateur golf championship at the 2024 Handiskins National Championship at Palm Meadows Golf Course next May. Given the great spirit shown in this months club finals, we are sure all four finalists would be in with a chance to claim the silverware and be crowned Handiskins National Champion. The 2024 event will be held from Wednesday 1st May to Sunday 5th May 2024.
Non-qualifiers can still join the fun of the National Championships
For those who weren't lucky enough to qualify for the National Championships but want to join these finalists and other club-mates on the Gold Coast each year, take a look at the amazing packages that we have available for the Peter Lehmann Wines Golf Challenge - A social Stableford championship for those wishing to join the fun of Handiskins National Championship Week. Player Packages and non-playing partner packages are now open. Find out More about the Peter Lehmann Wines Golf Challenge here.
Don't forget the Yamaha Chipping Competition!
Don't forget that three players from each participating club also have the chance to clean up at the Handiskins National Championships Week. After taking out the the nearest the pin challenge in the first, third and fifth rounds of qualifying, don't be surprised if you see these qualifiers spending an extended amount of time around the club chipping greens in the coming months. All three players who took out the nearest the pin have scored an invitation to contest the Yamaha Chipping competition at the 2024 Handiskins Championship Week. The winner will return to their club as the owner of a brand new Yamaha Golf Cart - just like our lucky 2023 winner Peter Kirwin from Cowra Golf Club (watch below).
